The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is a non-profit agency created as a public-private partnership created by the Department of Canadian Heritage and Canadian Cable Industry. The CMF funding programs are administered by Telefilm Canada.
The Canada Media Fund delivers over $360 million in annual funding to Canadian television and digital media industries through two streams of funding. The Convergent Stream provides funding to companies creating convergent television and digital media content. The Experimental Stream is geared towards companies engaged in the development of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications. CMF funding may be structured as a non-repayable contribution, repayable advance, and recoupable investment.
MCN helps its SR&ED and OIDMTC clients to select and scope projects for CMF funding and advises on CMF proposal preparation. This service is complementary to our SR&ED and OIDMTC clients who qualify for the program and are committed to allocating internal resources to securing CMF funding and managing CMF-funded projects.
