Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) helps Canadian companies develop and deploy competitive clean technology solutions. SDTC funds Canadian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) advancing innovative pre-commercial technologies demonstrating potentially significant and quantifiable environmental and economic benefits.
SDTC administers two funds. The Seed Fund supports early-stage Canadian entities with one-time grants of $50,000 to $100,000 for innovative technological projects with environmental benefits. The Clean Tech Fund supports clean technology development and demonstration start-up and scale-up projects, when the technology itself is beyond proof-of-concept but is pre-commercial. The Clean tech Fund subsidizes up to 40% of the projects costs. A typical SDTC project lasts several years and receives about $3 million contribution from the fund.
MCN helps its SR&ED clients to select and scope projects for SDTC funding, advises on SDTC proposal preparation as well as assists with managing SDTC projects. This service is available to our existing SR&ED clients who qualify for the program and are committed to investing time and resources in securing SDTC funding.
